About Me

Half of my life I spent growing up in Switzerland and immigrated in 2001 to Australia. My decision to move abroad happened within a couple of weeks before Xmas 2000. I was looking for a warmer climate and a beach was a must.

In Europe I knew most of the countries, America was not my dream at all, South America and Asia was a language barrier and New Zealand was simply to cold so therefore only Australia was left on my list. Just ask yourself this, who has the longest coastline the in world :-)

For many reasons, it was one of my best decision ever. My dream was and is to live next to the beach. I have achieved this dream simply as I was listening to my heart and my brain.

In life you need sometimes a change. In 2015-2018 I went through a Depression phase due to work stress. Recovering from it I started a new career in Network Security. Another major choice I mad was to get an ACD (Australian Cattle Dog) or you can call it a Heeler. There are generally Blue and Red's. I got a lovely Blue Heeler. More on his page under My Dog.

To get the opportunity to meet new people I joined a volunteer organisation called SES (State Emergency Services). We were involved in the Black Christmas bushfires in 2001/2002. Mostly bringing the Fire Brigade water and food. There was a big thank you parade we were invited to walk along George Street from the Rocks to Town Hall. The feeling was amazing, and we felt so proud as the public lined the streets to thank us and clap with their hands. Some had even banners up. Due to working late night shifts, I had to find something else to do.

After walking past a surf club multiple times I joined the Manly LSC as Surf Live Saver. Surf Live Saving teached a lot of valuable lifelessons e.g. CPR, how to use a defibrillator and my favourite one on how to drive an IRB (Inflatable Rescue Boat). Since 2015 I have long service leave, which means I have done my 10 years of Surf Live Saving.
